1. Mosaic - by Squarestylist

If you’re looking for unique and creative custom coded design features - with THE ultimate support from Rache and her private Slack channel, then Squarestylist is your go-to expert!

Her Moasaic template is a creative genius and she has soooo many fun features on there! As always, Rache has built this template to be versatile, as well as practical!

Who it’s good for: web designers who want to implement some cool features on their own websites or for their clients. Or freelancers who are familiar with Squarespace and keen to add some unique new features to their websites!

Who it’s not for: if you’re totally new to Squarespace, then this might be throwing yourself in the deep end a little!

Final takeaway: it’s less of a “simply insert your own content” and more of a “use this as inspiration to help you build your own unique site”.

This is one of my all-time favourite templates and I can highly recommend this - also because I personally know you are in good hands with Rache at Squarestylist!

2. Cosi - by Squaremuse

This beautiful template is another one of my favourites! It’s so creative and thoughfully built with some pages having more than one style version to choose from!

I loved so many of their features, that I actually bought this template to try out! This was back before they simply ‘added you as contributor’- and so I had to build the whole thing from scratch, which I would NOT recommend, as they have a LOT of code!

But the great thing was, they had fantastic step by step videos and you basically just copy and paste the codes! Nowadays, I think you can opt for the duplicated site so you can skip all that set up!

Who it’s good for: creative freelancers for want to showcase their portfolio and services in a fun, creative, yet stylish way!

Who it’s not good for: if you want to really customise the template and don’t know much about CSS coding, then it might be a little confusing!

In which case, the team at Squaremuse offer extra packages that help with this!

3. Foundress - by Stnsvn

A simple but beautiful template design for female business owners. Super easy to install and instead of custom codes, you do most of your designing in Canva!

Quite genius really and very easy to follow and customise yourself! No need to know anything about coding!

Who it’s good for: if you want something easy and fast, with no coding fuss and easy to tweak graphics in Canva - then this is a great option!

Who it’s not good for: creatives looking for a more unique custom design and who prefer designing with code - rather than a work-around method in Canva.

4. Gigi Rose - by Big Cat Creative

Love this elegant design and almost editorial, magazine feel. Erica from Big Cat Creative has a whole collection of great templates, but this one is hands down my favourite!

What’s great about her templates is that they’re also NO CODING required - all the graphics can be customised in Canva.

The only catch is… it looks like you have to DIY build the whole thing from scratch with instructional videos yourself!

Whereas most Squarespace 7.1 templates are easily duplicated so most of the hard work is already done for you.

Who it’s for: if you love to learn the process, then this is great because you get to build the WHOLE thing out yourself!

Who it’s not for: if you’re hoping to save time and just swap out the content… then maybe add her installation package?

5. Nomadic - by Aroha Visuals

NOMADIC is a premium feel template for service-based freelancers looking to upgrade their website and polish the way they showcase their creative work and services.

It’s been thoughtfully coded (by moi) to be as easy and straightforward as possible for you to go in there and customise it to your brand!

Wanna add a framed border to your image? No need to code or hop into Canva! Simply create a “poster image” block on Squarespace … and voilà! That’s the power of coding for me.

I’ve done the hard coding for you so that it’s easier for you to customise your site! This template has been built with practicality and versatility in mind! No need to build the whole thing, I'll send you an invite to the site (already built for you!) and all you have to do is swap out the content with your own!

Who it's for: service-based and creative freelancers who want a really unique, sleek and modern way of presenting their portfolio and services. Plus, you don't mind learning a little bit of code and love the interactive coded features that make your website stand out that much more!

Who it's not for: if you want to learn HOW to build the entire template... then sorry to disappoint! Also if you're REAAAALLY new to Squarespace and all this customising goes over your head... then I'd recommend you couple this template with some custom work (aka. hire me to install your content and make it more on-brand for you!)
